How We Discovered the Single Cup Coffee Maker
my family is pretty much just like most other standard American families. We enjoy our kids, try hard and try to enjoy our time off with family and friends. We’ve always enjoyed a great mug of coffee in the morning and maybe even after dinner. For years we probably did what everyone else did, buy ground coffee brands, dump the grounds in a filter, stick it in the brewer and wait for 8 cups or so to pour through. Then we started purchasing entire beans, which needed the purchase of a grinder. Fun for a bit, but sloppy.
Then one evening my better half and I were at a friend’s house for dinner and they offered us a cup. When asked what I preferred I just pointed to the fact that I would have whatever everyone else wanted. Our buddy opened the cupboard and showed us a variety of little cups, each packed with enough coffee for a single cup… Dark roasts, breakfast blends, you mention it. She then pointed towards the corner of the kitchen and introduced us to the single cup coffee maker. I afterwards learned that this was a Keurig model. One of several manufactured by people that invented what’s called the’K Cup’ system.
the following morning when we started the method of brewing another pot of coffee the unavoidable conversation started about what we had uncovered the night before. We both loved coffee. We didn’t always agree on what variety we wanted on a specified morning. We did not always drink the entire pot. And we were both a bit tired of the mess and bother involved in brewing a pot of coffee ( yeah… We can be a tiny lazy in the morning… First one out of bed makes the coffee ). So I cracked open the laptop PC and started doing some research on single cup coffee makers. I promise you, I take my time when looking at products. After a day or 2 of looking and debating I settled on one or two brands. You can see the options I considered below. These are all excellent options and took considerable time ( and more than one or two eye rolls from my bride ) for me to sort through the options. I finally ordered the Keurig B70 single cup coffee maker. Feature for feature the best single cup coffee maker I could find.
